Statutory Authority & Advocacy

Our Mandate

The fundamental statutory duties, advocacy responsibilities, and civic obligations entrusted to the Festac Town Residents’ Association by its constitution and community congress.

Civic Representation & Advocacy

Representing the collective voice and statutory interests of all Festac Town residents before governmental and regulatory authorities.

Liaising directly with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) on town planning and estate management.
Engaging Lagos State Government ministries on physical planning, utilities, and tax harmonization.
Representing residents with Amuwo Odofin Local Government and law enforcement agencies.

Infrastructure & Urban Sustainability

Promoting physical renewal, public utilities maintenance, and environmental sustainability.

Advocating for regular road resurfacing, asphalt maintenance, and pothole eradication.
Monitoring primary and tertiary drainage clearance to prevent seasonal flooding.
Facilitating solar street lighting along major avenues and residential link roads.

Community Security & Peacekeeping

Coordinating neighborhood watch synergy, perimeter security protocols, and dispute mediation.

Supporting synchronized night patrols across all 5 constituent communities.
Standardizing security gate access systems and resident vehicle identity permits.
Operating an accessible dispute mediation desk to maintain harmony among neighbors.

Heritage Preservation & Cultural Identity

Safeguarding the cultural legacy, green spaces, and historical integrity of the 1977 Second World Black Festival.

Defending designated green recreational spaces and public parks from unlawful encroachment.
Organizing annual Festac Town civic cultural celebrations and youth sports development.
